'Soli Vero' - Soil Truth is a wine built on a cornerstone of authenticity. Single-vineyard sourced from Bendigo, Central Otago.
Both in the vineyard and the winery the site and wine is managed and tended to in a custodial manner. Continually ensuring the wine is guided to a true expression of the terroir and framed in an honest reflection of the land from whence it came.
This wine delivers aromatics of subtle red cherry and well-integrated oak. Notes of dark plums with well-balanced fruit on the palate and fine elegant tannins that develop in a long complex finish.

The aim with our James blend is to create an elegant and complex example of Martinborough's classic red wine that looks towards Burgundy but acknowledges our own special place in Martinborough's Te Muna Valley. In a barrel by barrel selection process we unite unique wines from our best vineyard and ferment parcels to create James PInot Noir.
Deep, complex and evolving nose of fruits of the forest and mixed spice. Rich, powerful and full bodied palate with tannins finely integrated into a mouth filling core. The wine finishes elegantly with excellent intensity of flavour.

Stonecroft is a small, family owned winery making organic Gimblett Gravels wines in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. The owners are Dermot McCollum and Andria Monin. Their approach is all about minimal intervention/maximum care and attention style wines - generally using whole bunch press, older French Oak for around 18 months.
The name ‘Serine’ came about after speculation over the origin of the wineries oldest Syrah vines, which are the oldest Syrah vines in New Zealand. At one stage, it was thought the clone of Syrah might be Serine. That was never established but the name stuck.
The Serine Syrah is a serious wine which will develop in the bottle, but one which does not need to be cellared for years before drinking.
Rich, black fruit flavours, balanced with sweet spices and a dash of pepper.

An excellent Cabernet Merlot blend from the Stonecroft Roy's Hill Gimblett Gravels vineyard. The palate is lush with plenty of dark fruit flavours and a touch of spice on the finish. Exceptional.

Supreme old school Rioja, like a time warp to the finest Spanish red of forty years ago. La Rioja Alta pride themselves on traditional style, not drink-young fashion. On average they produce 4 vintages of this wine every decade, and it spends 4 years in barrel then 5 years in bottle before release. This had all the best quality fruit and American oak, with these impeccable ingredients contributing directly to a red of massive depth, structure and savoury complexity. Special
The 2008 Tinto Reserva announces itself with dense notes of macerated strawberries on the nose, followed seamlessly by those oh-so-glorious “Tondonia” notes of autumn bonfires and vanilla that make you feel perfectly at home. However, the 2008’s aromas move seamlessly into something much more delicate, verging even towards ethereal (for Rioja) with layers reminiscent of dried cranberries. These gather in momentum on the second pour as they transform with air into sweet layers of fresh raspberries which develop with astonishing complexity.
A blend of 70% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacho with the remaining 10% a mix of Graciano and Mazuelo, the palate is firmly upright at first, still surprisingly tight with a very high level of super-fine tannins. Initially ultrafresh, the wine rela xes with a bit more time as it begins to mellow. Transforming into a gentle and glorious wine, this Tondonia caresses the palate with luxuriant savoury notes, hints of marmite and cured meat, and spirals away into an endless finish. Simply put, this is warm, delicious, elegant yet exhilarating Tondonia, more in line with the cool 2006 than other recent vintages. It is so full of life and energy but displays that wonderful, counterbalancing richness that just makes you want to relax and sink on to the sofa with it; it is a wine worthy of any cellar.

The 2019 is heavily merlot dominant, with the typical dark berry and plum fruit of the variety. This is lifted by top notes of fragrant violet and subtle spice. A savoury dark earthy complexity brings a more serious, brooding undertone to the wine. On the palate the wine is full bodied with good mid palate flesh, finishing with a long, fine tannin structure that will soften with time and ensure good cellaring potential (2026 – 2038). Well matched to a wide range of full flavoured game and red meat dishes.

Chardonnay is a variety which we have always enjoyed drinking ourselves. The Old Vine Chardonnay is not made every year, the grapes are from our oldest Chardonnay vines planted in 1992. The vines are Mendoza clone, with low yields, loose bunches and small berries.

Hunting Hill is a vineyard that was first planted in 1982 and became a significant part of the original Kumeu River Chardonnay blend. Occupying the slope overlooking Maté’s Vineyard, it has always contributed lovely ripe and rich fruit to the Estate Chardonnay. Hunting Hill was replanted in 2000 and is now even better than before, giving beautifully ripe fruit with a distinctive, mealy minerality.248.00 NZD
Special
This is a variety which was planted at Stonecroft soon after the first vineyard was established in 1982. With this Gewürztraminer we are aiming for a medium dry wine which is lighter in style and food friendly.
immediately enticing and curious with aromas of tropical fruits and apples, white spices and flowers, white nectarine and pear, roses and suggestions of frangipani. On the palate - just dry with some initial sweetness captured in a silky and satin-cream texture - slowly gives way to fleshy white tree fruits and exotic tropical fruits, a warming alcohol and medium acidity bring contrast and complexity. Lengthy finish, great balance and length. Drink now and through 2024+. Serve cool.

Aromas of Tahitian lime, honeysuckle and nougat are mixed with slightly spicy and savoury cashew nut notes. The palate is delicate and pure with a beautiful pithy texture, orange blossom and ripe citrus flavours. This super textural riesling has great palate weight and lovely fruit sweetness which adds great mouthfeel without being cloying.

Dessert Wine
Certified organic, the distinctive 2020 vintage (5*) was estate-grown in the Roys Hill Vineyard, hand-picked, tank-fermented and lees-aged for four months. Light lemon/green, it is richly perfumed and mouthfilling, with strong, ripe pear, lychee and spice flavours, and a long, off-dry (11 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish

From a cooler wetter vintage this is our first Rosé. Made naturally by the saignée method this peach coloured rosé is seductively textured and bone dry. Neither fined nor filtered there may be some cloudiness from the natural yeasts if the bottle is agitated. Zero added sulphites. Suitable for vegans.
